Tell Us More About Your Business

Dr. Lauren Baker In Home Pediatric Physical Therapy is a solo-Pediatric Physical Therapy practice, which means that you only ever interact with Dr. Lauren Baker.

She will be the one you talk to when you schedule, the one who comes to your house, the one who follows up to see how things are going, and the one always answering your questions.

Dr. Baker specializes in bringing Pediatric Play and Physical Therapy to families of children 0-4 years old, in their cozy home environments — usually their living rooms!

She currently provides Pediatric Physical Therapy and Proactive Play Sessions in Boise & Treasure Valley and provides Online Parent Consultations for families globally.

What Do You Specialize In Treating?

  • Proactive Play Wellness: Helping parents prepare for their child’s next milestone or be set up to master their current milestone.

  • Difficulty with Tummy Time 0-5 months

  • Milestone Difficulty: Rolling, Sitting, Crawling, Standing, Walking, Jumping, Stairs, Throwing/Catching

  • Developmental Delay: Mild to Global

  • Torticollis (head tilt: ear to shoulder usually same side always or neck rotation preference: always looking to one side)

  • Plagiocephaly (treatment without helmet may be possible 0-3 months), all proactive play sessions and Pediatric Physical Therapy in Boise or Treasure Valley also come with a head shape screening

  • Neurological Diagnoses

  • Infantile Scoliosis

Do You Have Any Extra Special Training?

Dr. Lauren Baker has the following qualifications:

  • Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (2013) + Licensure in multiple states — makes it legal for me to see your child :)

  • Bachelors of Athletic Training from the University of Iowa (2010) — brings a different perspective to children than most pediatric PTs

  • Pediatric Physical Therapy Department Faculty at Concordia University Wisconsin (2020-2023) — experience teaching student physical therapists all about pediatric physical therapy

  • Manual Therapy Certification — helps me bring infant massage, body work, and other techniques to release tension in your child and help them move better

  • Total Motion Release for Tots — this technique is a game changer for releasing tension in babies and children, especially those with a diagnosis of Torticollis.

  • Baby Begin Method for Flat Spots (Plagiocephaly) — allows me to help you learn strategic repositioning techniques on babies 0-4 months with flat spots to avoid helmets.

Are You Good At Educating Parents?

It is one of Dr. Baker’s absolute favorite things — educating parents.

From previous experiences educating families in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings while working in the school district to transitioning to in home Pediatric Physical Therapy, she believes that parents can influence how their children move in incredible ways, if they are given access to the right information.

She does this through writing and publishing books on Amazon and by releasing educational video content on youtube (which she finds super helpful for families to use to carry over their exercises at home).

The Mission

Dr. Baker feels a heartfelt calling to provide education to parents not just in Boise, but all across the world.

She believes in global access to Pediatric Physical Therapy education. It’s one of the reasons why she educates on a global platform like youtube, creates books that are available on Amazon, and provides education in as many ways as she can, including local in-services to Daycares, Mom Groups, and Providers.

In 2016, she and a fellow Pediatric Physical Therapist (Katlin) brought Pediatric PT to Nepal, educating caregivers and other professionals on ways to improve the movement of the children they worked with.

Lauren & Katlin created a book that they left with the Nepalese school and then self-published it on Amazon in 2020 to help other families have a place to start. All proceeds go towards future global or stateside mission trips.
